What Your Coach Notices That You Don't
By Sian Edwards, Owner

You think you're not improving. Your coach would disagree.
Most people who walk into CrossFit Warrington want to see progress. A heavier lift, a faster time, a new PB on the whiteboard.
So when the numbers don't move for a few weeks, it's easy to feel stuck. You turn up, you work hard, and you wonder if any of it is making a difference.
Here's the thing. Your coaches are watching every class, every rep, every week. And they see changes you've completely missed.
Four signs of progress you probably haven't noticed
1. You've stopped watching the clock
In week one, every second of a workout dragged. You checked the clock constantly, willing it to hit zero.
Now you're too busy counting rounds to look up. That shift happens because your fitness has caught up with the work. The workout hasn't got easier. You've got better at it.
2. Your squat depth has changed
You probably never noticed this one. We did.
Depth comes from mobility, strength and confidence building over weeks of practice. It doesn't show up as a number on the whiteboard, but it's one of the clearest signs your body is adapting. Better depth means stronger legs, healthier hips and safer lifting for years to come.
3. You can hold a conversation between sets
Remember when you couldn't string a sentence together after a warm-up?
Now you're chatting to the person next to you while you wait for your next set. That's your heart and lungs recovering faster. It's one of the biggest fitness gains there is, and most people never give themselves credit for it.
4. You've turned up on the days you really didn't want to
Knackered. Busy. No motivation. You came anyway.
This might be the most important progress of all. Anyone can train when they feel great. Building the habit of showing up on the hard days is what changes your fitness for good.
Progress isn't always a PB
PBs are brilliant, and we love celebrating them. But they're only a small part of the story.
Most progress is quiet. It's the small changes you don't notice because you're too busy chasing the next goal. Better movement. Faster recovery. More confidence. A habit that sticks.
That's where coaching makes the difference. In a CrossFit Warrington class, a coach is watching you move every session. We remember where you started, so we can see how far you've come, even when you can't.
Keep showing up
If you're a member, take this as your reminder: you're making more progress than you think. Keep turning up.
If you're thinking about starting, you don't need to be fit to begin. Our coaches meet you where you are and help you build from there, one class at a time.
