From Day One to Month Eleven: How CrossFit Creates Real Change
By Sian Edwards, Owner

Every January, gyms fill with good intentions.
People want more energy.
More confidence.
A body that feels strong instead of tired.
But what most people actually want is something deeper — change that lasts.
At CrossFit Warrington, we don’t believe in quick fixes or January-only motivation. We believe in building habits, confidence and strength that carry you through all the months of the year. And no one shows that better than Colleen.
From Couch to CrossFit
When Colleen first walked through our doors, she wasn’t a “gym person”.
She was a busy mum of two, exhausted, stuck in a cycle of putting everyone else first and herself last. Like so many women, she felt disconnected from her body, short on energy, and unsure where to start.
“I just wanted to feel better in myself,” she says. “I didn’t want to be the mum who was always tired and aching. I wanted to keep up with my kids and feel confident again.”
She didn’t come in chasing six-packs or massive lifts.
She came in chasing feeling like herself again.
That’s what Day One at CrossFit Warrington really looks like.
Not perfect.
Not fit.
Just brave enough to start.
What Happens When You Keep Showing Up
CrossFit works because it isn’t about doing everything right — it’s about showing up, over and over again.
Colleen started small. Learning the movements. Gaining confidence. Making it through workouts she never thought she’d be able to finish. Slowly, the changes started stacking up:
- More energy
- Better sleep
- Fewer aches and pains
- More patience with the kids
- A growing belief: “I can do hard things.”
But something still wasn’t clicking. Training felt good, but her body wasn’t responding the way she hoped.
That’s when she took the next step.
The Nutrition Shift That Changed Everything
Colleen joined our 1-2-1 Nutrition Coaching programme — not for a diet, but for structure, support and accountability.
“I thought I ate quite well,” she admits. “But I didn’t realise how much my food was working against me. I was under-fuelled, over-snacking, and constantly on a blood sugar rollercoaster.”
With personalised calorie targets, protein goals and regular check-ins, things changed fast:
- Energy became more stable
- Hunger was easier to manage
- Workouts improved
- Weight came off — without feeling restricted
Most importantly, she stopped guessing.
“I finally felt in control instead of confused.”
From Client to Confident CrossFitter
Now, eleven months in, Colleen isn’t just surviving workouts — she’s thriving.
She trains regularly.
She lifts weights she once thought were impossible.
She fuels her body properly.
She feels strong, capable and confident.
And she still shows up — not because she has to, but because this is now part of who she is.
This is what Month Eleven looks like.
Not perfection.
Not obsession.
Just consistency, support and a system that works.
A Word From Owner, Sian
“Colleen is a perfect example of what CrossFit Warrington is about,” says owner and head coach Sian.
“She didn’t come in trying to be the fittest person in the room. She came in wanting to feel better in herself — and she trusted the process. She trained, she learned, she invested in her nutrition, and she stayed consistent. That’s why her results have lasted.”
This January, You Don’t Need a Fresh Start…
You need a real one.
One with coaching.
One with community.
One with support when motivation fades.
One that still works in February, June and November.
Colleen didn’t change her life in a week.
She didn’t even do it in a year.
She did it in 11 months of showing up, learning, fuelling her body properly and trusting the process.
And that’s exactly what we help people do here.
